The poverty rate in Los Angeles County is higher than the nation as a whole. More than 1.47 million or over 15 percent of residents in L.A. County are living in poverty, defined as an income of $22,000 a year for a family of four.

Car Chase Ends at The Americana

Burbank police responded to a liquor store robbery and gave chase to a car that ended up crashing into a parked car at the Americana in Glendale. Two suspects were arrested, but one fled into a parking structure at the Americana. Police thought the suspect might be armed so the mall was locked down.
